To design an effective touch monitor or other touch application, you should understand how to choose the right touch panel to match your system. There are several basic criteria:
| Frame Area (FA) |
| Normally the outside dimensions of touch panels should be the same or smaller than LCD's outer dimensions |
| Viewable Area (VA) |
| This area is transparent on the touch panel. Normally LCD's active area is smaller than touch panel's viewing area. |
| Active Area (AA) |
| In most cases, the touch panel's active area is 0.3 mm larger than LCD's active area. |
| Bezel Size |
| Bezel's open area should be at least 0.3mm larger than active area |
